favorite fictional characters ◣ sansa stark (game of thrones)
“My skin has turned to porcelain, to ivory — to steel.”
Sansa is probably, in my opinion one of the more underrated, often misconstrued, characters in the series. She is painted as fickle and superficial, which is true of her in the beginning. She pines for something more, she pines for Joffrey. But, she is a learner and her illusions about Joffrey and pursuing him? Well, it didn’t go well for her as a whole. She found that she missed her home, she missed what she had to start. But, she knew that she could not go back, she could not turn around and step her feet in Winterfell and have all of that life back.
She grows quickly, and it’s hard to adjust. She is near forced to grow up from who she’d been. The quote above suits her perfectly in her transition and growth. She forces a smile, she is bold with Joffrey but most times he barely realize just how bold she’s been. One of the few characters that sees the strength and true intelligence in her is Tyrion.
